TORONTO (AP) — The Toronto Maple Leafs scored in bunches through seven games. The St. Louis Blues showed that goals don’t always come that easily.Ryan O’Reilly scored his first goal with St. Louis Ryan O'Reilly Jersey Womens , and Jake Allen made 22 saves as the Blues beat the Maple Leafs 4-1 on Saturday night.Robert Bortuzzo, Zach Sanford and Ivan Barbashev also scored, and David Perron added two assists for St. Louis, which picked up its second victory in seven games this season.Morgan Rielly scored for Toronto. Frederik Andersen stopped 21 of 24 shots as the Leafs dropped consecutive games after five straight wins.“We scored early, we scored easy, it was pretty loose and everything was great,” Leafs head coach Mike Babcock said. “Now we’re finding out it’s the NHL, it’s hard to score, teams compete hard on you, teams adjust and they’re going to play you hard. We’ve got to get our mojo back by going to work and we’ll do that.“Not good enough.”Toronto had scored an NHL-high 33 goals in seven games to open the season. But the Maple Leafs were shut out by the Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday and were scoreless in two periods against the Blues, going 116 minutes 37 seconds without a goal until Rielly cut the deficit to 3-1 early in the third.“There have been some adjustments by our opponents,” said Toronto center John Tavares Brian Elliott Jersey , who finished with two shot attempts. “We have to stick to what we do well and can’t get away from it.“We know teams are going to adjust and teams are going to try and make it tough on us.”The game marked the return of center Tyler Bozak, who left for St. Louis in free agency this summer after nine seasons with the Leafs. The Blues came into the game with just one win in their first six games after an offseason roster overhaul that saw Bozak, O’Reilly, Perron and Pat Maroon brought in. St. Louis was convinced it was close to putting things together, despite early season struggles. After a scoreless first period, St. Louis went ahead at 4:45 of the second when Bortuzzo’s point shot went off the stick of Toronto defenseman Travis Dermott and bounced past Andersen.Andersen made a nice stop on Brayden Schenn later in the period, but could do nothing on Sanford’s high shot at 13:05 that made it 2-0.O’Reilly, picked up in a blockbuster trade with the Buffalo Sabres in the offseason, then scored his first for St. Louis at 16:37, when he was left alone in front, took a pass from Vladimir Tarasenko and beat Andersen as a Leafs penalty expired.“That looked a lot more like the St. Louis Blues,” said head coach Mike Yeo http://www.officialflyersproshop.com/authentic-adidas-claude-giroux-jersey , whose team snapped a three-game slide. “The guys came out (and) gave us a great response.”The Leafs, who were outshot by the Blues 13-8 through the first 40 minutes, had 1:32 of a power play to start the third. But Nazem Kadri’s shot in tight hit Allen and then the post.Rielly, who came in leading NHL defensemen in scoring with 10 points, scored at 4:22 of the third when his shot from the slot squeezed through Allen for his fourth. The Leafs’ top-ranked power play went to work again with 7:10 left in regulation, but Allen stopped Patrick Marleau on the doorstep before Toronto’s Andreas Johnsson went off for holding the stick with seven seconds left in the man advantage. The Leafs pulled Andersen with just over three minutes remaining, and a Jaden Schwartz penalty made for a 6-on-4 advantage. But Allen and the Blues hung tough before Barbashev scored into an empty net with 1:43 remaining as Toronto fell to 2-3-0 at home.NOTES: Bozak was honored during the game’s first television timeout with a video montage from the 32-year-old’s time in Toronto. … St. Louis defenseman Jay Bouwmeester, a veteran of 1,112 NHL games, was a healthy scratch for the first time in his 16-year career.UP NEXTToronto: At Winnipeg on Wednesday.St. Louis: At Winnipeg on Monday. History is being made again in the Stanley Cup playoffs. On the heels of the first back-to-back champions in two decades, the NHL will get a new champion in the salary-cap era that began in 2005. Among the Lightning, Capitals Ivan Provorov Jersey , Jets and Golden Knights, only Tampa Bay has won the Stanley Cup, making this the first time the final four teams have combined for one title or fewer.Tampa Bay is in the Eastern Conference final for the third time in four years, and Washington has made the playoffs 10 out of the past 11 seasons. Yet after one of Chicago, Boston, Los Angeles and Pittsburgh lifted the Cup every time since 2009, this crop of new blood is refreshing.”They’re all good stories,” Capitals coach Barry Trotz said. ”The same old story sometimes can get old. Once in a while a new chapter is written, and it’ll be good. This year there will be a new chapter.”The next chapter begins with the Capitals visiting the Lightning on Friday night, followed by the Golden Knights at Winnipeg on Saturday night. It’s a full turnover from the final four teams last year: Pittsburgh, Ottawa, Nashville and Anaheim. The Jets became the fourth and final team to reach the third round when they beat the defending Western Conference-champion Predators on the road in Game 7 on Thursday night. Winnipeg is the final hope for Canada’s first Cup celebration since Montreal in 1993 and is in the conference final for the first time in franchise history.”Having some diversity amongst the league is great Jakub Voracek Jersey Kids , and I think it just shows the competitive balance throughout the league,” Jets captain Blake Wheeler said. ”Having good young players is a great place to start and you see that the teams that have good young players have gotten good fast. So I think it’s a good thing to have some fan bases have some extended postseason success. It just creates a better vibe.”The Lightning are trying to create the vibe Hockey Bay hasn’t seen since winning the Cup in 2004. They fell short in a six-game loss to the Blackhawks in the 2015 final with this core, led by Steven Stamkos and Victor Hedman.Even after missing the playoffs last year when Stamkos was out long term with a knee injury, Tampa Bay has plenty of recent playoff experience from recent runs and the additions of ex-Rangers players Ryan McDonagh, Dan Girardi and J.T. Miller.”We’ve been here in this situation before,” Stamkos said. ”There’s no panic or nervousness. We’re excited.”Vegas hasn’t been in any situation before, building off the best inaugural season in NHL history by beating Los Angeles and San Jose to reach the West final. Among the four good stories remaining, none is as remarkable as the Golden Knights, who pieced together players from around the league to get further than anyone expected.”I haven’t been around a team like this,” general manager George McPhee said. ”This feels like more of a team than any team I’ve ever been with at the NHL level.”McPhee’s former team in Washington has the same feeling. The Capitals aren’t as deep or talented as in years past, but they’re in the East final for the first time since 1998, when McPhee was in his first season as their GM.”I’ve had some teams that have been very Youth Jordan Weal Jersey , very talented and they weren’t necessarily the best teams,” said Trotz, who is in the third round for the first time in 19 years as an NHL head coach. ”I think the belief in the group, or the chemistry in the group, is the intangible and this group has a good chemistry about it.”What excites Jets coach Paul Maurice most about the fresh teams in the conference finals is the hope it keeps alive in the remaining cities. And each one can legitimately believe its team has a chance to win it all.”That’s the great part about competition,” Maurice said. ”So that’s what’s the most exciting thing is you don’t know, right? There’s not a five-time Stanley Cup champion that’s just ran the first two series 4-0. It’s up for grabs. It’s right there.”—AP Sports Writer Teresa M. Walker in Nashville, Tennessee, contributed.—
